What is an Explorer Scout?

Explorer Scouts are young people whom make up the fourth Section of the Scouting family.

What do Explorer Scouts do?

As an Explorer Scout, you will get the chance to work with other Explorer Scouts in your District, not just your Unit. By doing this, you will get the chance to do many more activities, not just the ones your Unit organises.

The Explorer Scout Promise is:

'On My Honour, I promise that I will do my best

to do my duty to God and to the Queen,

To help other people

and to keep the Scout Law
'.

The Explorer Scout Law is:

A Scout is to be trusted.
A Scout is loyal.
A Scout is friendly and considerate.
A Scout belongs to the worldwide family of Scouts.
A Scout has courage in all difficulties.
A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property.
A Scout has self-respect and respect for others.

The Explorer Scout Motto is:

'Be Prepared'.

When can I be an Explorer Scout?

The Explorer Section are usually aged between 14 years six months and 18.
