What is a Cub Scout?

Being a Cub Scout means that you join the Scout Movement by making a special promise.You will wear a uniform which includes a scarf and a set of badges.

What do Cub Scouts do?

There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. Meet on tuesdays between 6.30pm and 8pm to have a go at trying lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.

The Cub Scout Promise is:

'I promise that I will do my best

to do my duty to God and to the Queen,

To help other people

and to keep the Cub Scout Law'.

The Cub Scout Motto is:

'Be Prepared'.

When can I be a Cub Scout?

Cub Scouts are usually aged between eight and ten years old. Young people can join Cub Scouts in the three months leading up to their eighth birthday. They can move to the next Section, Scouts, between ten and fourteen years six months.
